Plas Newydd, Llangollen

Restoration Before A project carried out in 2004 for English Landscapes. The river had become blocked and diverted (left). This was dug out and the banks stone faced (below left). Parts of the river had once been stone lined, this had virtually completely disappeared. Other areas were becoming eroded. Retaining Wall
Restored With some help from Master Craftsmen Alan Jones and Brandon Warlow (right) new retaining walls were built (above right) with imported stone (glacial from Pant Glas, Gwynedd).

The project as a whole won a prestigious BALI National Landscape Award in 2005.
